Summer Swimming

Glorious - I love swimming in the summer. And now I am so happy: I just got a membership at my local Y on West 63rd St. I can't think of a better way to cool off at the end of a hot day. It feels so wonderful to go swimming after spending the day painting at my table (with just my ceiling fan, because I hate air conditioning and resort to that only when I'm desperate). And those humid 90 degree plus summer days are coming to New York City. So I am prepared!

I wish I could say this is me swimming, but it is not! In fact, this is our French cousin. She may have the chance to accompany the French swim team to the Olympics next summer in China! She is a swimmer with a high-rating on the national level for her age group (she just turned 15). She wouldn't compete in the Olympics in 2008, but maybe with continued hard work and luck she might swim in London in 2012! Wouldn't that be cool - her uncle and aunt (my sister) live in London and we definitely would all be there to cheer her on!
