What a treat at the Union Square Farmer's Market:
The Sullivan Street Bakery was giving a free demonstration of pizza-making and a free tasting of the results. They were doing this from their very cool mobile pizza truck, complete with a little gas brick oven. To promote the farmers and their produce, the bakers made imaginative pizzas with ingredients fresh from the market. I tasted one with a topping of bright orange mashed squash - it was piping hot from the oven and incrediably delicious! If you are in NYC you are lucky because you can go to the Sullivan St Bakery at 533 West 47th St. Otherwise if you are far away, I hope these photos inspire you to use the recipe at the back of my book "Pizza at Sally's" and get right into your kitchen and make pizza!
