We have hit a bit of rain but our spirits are not dampened! There are bicycles everywhere. Even in the middle of winter, a lot of people are riding bicycles. I wish we had time to rent bicycles and explore that way, but our time here is pretty much centered around Lydia spending time at the theater.

This is Het Muziektheater, the home of The Dutch National Ballet. Lydia went to company class in the morning, and the next day too. The theater was right in the center of things. Lydia loves finding flea markets. Here there was one right around the corner from the stage door! And also close by was The Flower Market: a burst of color! Hundreds and hundreds of different kinds of bulbs were being sold.

I loved walking along the picturesque canals. This is a very easy city to fall in love with! It is so great traveling in Europe in winter - there are practically no tourists! We feel like we are experiencing each place as if we were living here, and everything is so much easier without crowds of people! I may never come to Europe in the summer again!
